According to NationalPastime.com, on this date in baseball in 1986, Padres manager Steve Boros tried to give umpire Charlie Williams a videotape of a blown call from the night before.
Apparently, the umpires in the 1980s had the same hubris as they do in the aughts, as Boros was ejected before the game even started.
Surprised Ozzie Guillen hasn’t tried this tactic before.
